Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., both at Northwestern State University, held an awareness activity on campus on Sept. 20 in an effort to inform students and employees about Sickle Cell Anemia disease, which is chiefly found in Brown and Black citizens. The challenging disease affects millions every year and according to medical experts, thousands of colege students are affected.
The organizations partnered as September is Sickle Anemia Awareness Month and the Omegas along with the Krewe of Excellence were advocates for the City of Natchitoches-citing the month. Burgundy ribbons and detailed information was shared with all.
