
The Natchitoches Central High School 2023 Homecoming Court was recently presented on the field as the Chiefs took on Southwood on Sept. 22.
Alyssa Chandler is the daughter of Lacy and Sam Christophe. Alyssa has been a member of the Lady Chiefs basketball team for four years, the NCHS track team for two years, and the volleyball team for one year.
She has also been a member of BETA club for three years and is an A student who has maintained a 4.3 GPA. While Alyssa is still undecided where she will commit to play college basketball, she plans to major in digital arts and media design.
Cirsty Unique Evans is the daughter of Latarie Robinson and Terry Lee Evans. Cristy ia a 4-year Lady Chiefs Varsity Track and Field and holds an All Distric title in 2021 and 2022 and was All Regional and a state qualifier in 2023. Cirsty was also involved in multiple clubs including Beta Club, American Sign Language, and Activate for 3 years, Upward Bound and Chief Council for 2 years, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Health Occupation Students of America for 1 year. Last year she was inducted into National Honor Society. Throughout high school Cirsty has maintained a 4.0 GPA. She plans to attend Xavier University of New Orleans and major in Biology with a minor in health occupations.
Ja’Niaria Rena Medlock is the daughter of Ashley Helaire and Damien Medlock. Ja’Niaria was a member of the chiefettes team during her freshman year and is currently a 2-year member of the NCHS Flagline. Ja’Niaria is a 2-year member of the HOSA organization, a club for future health professionals. Ja’Niaria is a 2-year member of the ASL club and joined the African American history club as a junior. She has also participated in 4-H & Activate club and was elected community chair of the 4-H club her sophomore year. Throughout high school, Ja’Niaria has maintained a 3.2 GPA. She plans to attend University of Louisiana Monroe to major in radiology to become a medical sonographer.
Justice Renee Robinson is the daughter of Tawana Rivers and Rodney Robinson. Justice has been a member of the Varsity cheer team for 3 years and was chosen to be NCHS cheer captain her senior year. Justice is a 3-year member of the powerlifting team and qualified for state her second year. Justice also participates in several school clubs, including African American history club, PBIS, Chief Council, BETA club, and Best Buddies club. Last year, Justice was inducted into the National Honors Society. Throughout high school,
Justice has maintained a 4.0 GPA. She plans to attend college to study Criminal Justice and pursue a career as a Lawyer.
Kennedi Alice Nelson is the daughter of Deirdre and Chad Nelson. Kennedi has been a proud member of the Lady Chief Basketball team all four year of her high school experience. Kennedi is also very involved in several school clubs, including Chief Council, PBIS, African American History Club, Beta, Activate and National Honors Society. Throughout high school, Kennedi has maintained a 4.4 GPA. Next year Kennedi plans to attend college and study to become a dermatologist and later open her own practice.
Morgan Analise LaCour is the daughter of Stephanie LaCour and Mario Sanchez. Morgan is a 4-year member of the Lady Chiefs Basketball Team and track and field runner for two years. She is a 4-year member of the African American history club and has been a member of the faith based club, “Activate”. Morgan was also elected class president her sophomore year and chief council president her junior year. Last year, Morgan was inducted into the National Honor Society. Throughout high school, Morgan has maintained a 4.1 GPA. Her future plans include attending college to become a registered nurse and later become a nurse practitioner.
Shani Alese Winder is the daughter of Ruth Chatman-Brown and Darrel Winder Jr. Shani’ is a a former member of Chiefettes and is a 3-year member of the Varsity Cheer team, where she currently holds the position of Lieutenant. Shani’ is also a member of African American History Club, Chief Council, PBIS Crew, Activate Club, and as a freshman and sophomore, she was a member of SGO. Throughout high school, Shani’ has maintained a 3.5 GPA and was inducted into the National Honor Society last year. Shani’ plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to study Business Administration and pursue her dream of becoming a real estate agent.
Shona Marie Moses is the daughter of Justin Brown and Matreka Moses. Shona has been a member of the Tribal Fire and Flag Line all four years of high school and currently holds the title of Captain. She is a member of Chief Council, African American History Club, and Activate. Shona has served as a reporter for the yearbook committee and is currently on the Mayor’s Youth Council. She has also had the honor to speak at the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast and Natchitoches Central’s Black History program. Shona has maintained a 3.4 GPA throughout high school and has aspiration to attend NSU as a Mass Communications major focusing on News Broadcasting.
Sierra Makyah Kilgore is the daughter of Ava Booth and Michael Kilgore. Sierra was a 2-year member of the Lady Chiefs Basketball team. She is a 4-year member of African American History and ACTIVATE clubs. Throughout high school, Sierra has maintained a 3.5 GPA. She plans to attend college to study psychology and become a therapist.
