
A Vernon Parish woman suffered non-life threatening injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Sept. 26 around 3:53 pm on Hwy. 117, South of Provencal. Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Louisiana State Police, Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #4 and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS responded to NATCOM 911 Center reports of a single-vehicle crash with possible entrapment.
Natchitoches Parish Fire District #4, the first to arrive on scene, advised the sole-occupant of the vehicle was injured but not trapped in the wreckage.
Deputies say a 58-year-old Leesville woman operating a 2015 Hyundai Sonata was traveling Southbound on Hwy. 117, South of Provencal when for reasons still under investigation lost control and exited the road on the left side. The vehicle then traveled down an embankment striking a couple of trees which caused the vehicle to flip end over end coming to a rest upright.
This action caused air bag deployment.
The driver of the vehicle was transported from the scene by EMS to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center with what was believed to be non-life threatening injuries at the time of transport.
Troopers assigned to LSP Troop- E Alexandria investigated the crash.
