Operation Christmas Child gears up for National Collection Week: November 13-20

Operation Christmas Child is a ministry through Samaritan’s Purse that spreads the gospel to over 170 countries. It is a tangible way to share God’s love to millions of children.

The shoeboxes are given to children ages 2-4, 5-9, and 10-14 in third world countries.  For many children, this is the FIRST gift they have ever received. The boxes are packed with school supplies, toiletries (no liquids), clothing and shoes, toys and a “WOW” item.

The children are invited to a distribution where they hear the Gospel. The children are given a booklet named “The Greatest Gift.” The children are invited to return for a  discipleship training program. Upon graduating from the program, each child receives a Bible in their own language.

The goal for the West Central La Team (Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine, and Winn parish) for 2023 is 18, 663 shoeboxes.

National Collection Week is November 13-20. For more information contact Brenda Ingram at 471-9415.
