The monthly Young at Heart luncheon for seniors was held on Oct. 4 at First United Methodist Church.
Seniors from the Council on Aging entertained with a demonstration of exercise techniques that are taught at the Council. Instructor Avila Kahey led the group. The Bostick-Bradley Circle provided fall decorations.
October birthdays were celebrated by Wanda Holden, Hugh Gentry, James Ray Dowden, Cyril Moreland, Nyle Parchim, Jr., Chuck McQueen, Dorothy Kissell, and Perry Sprowl. October wedding anniversaries were celebrated by Oscarine Robinson and by Harvey and Judy Polk.
Harvey Polk served as Master of Ceremonies, and Pastor Gary Willis offered a prayer before the meal.
Young at Heart meets the first Wednesday of each month at 11 AM in Bostick Hall at the church. The meeting is non-denominational, and all seniors are welcome. Attendees are asked to pay a $5 fee or to bring a covered dish to share.
