Natchitoches Parish Sheriffs Deputies, Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #1 and the La Department of Agriculture and Forestry responded to the scene of a brush fire in the 3000 block of Hwy. 119, North of Melrose on Oct. 17 around 6:30 pm.

Conditions remain dry. A grass fire can spread quickly. Use caution when conducting outdoor burning.
