Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #7 responded to reports of a vehicle fire on Oct. 30 around 11:20 am on I-49 northbound near milepost #158 north of Ajax according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

 

Units arrived on scene finding the 2016 Nissan Titan pickup truck fully engulfed.

 

The driver was able to remove an attached trailer loaded with an ATV and move it to a safe location from the fire.

 

Deputies say the driver who was traveling from Mamou to Mansfield on a hunting trip stated it appeared that the fire originated somewhere in the engine compartment.

 

There were no injuries.

 

The vehicle was a total loss.

 

A local wrecker service was dispatched to the scene to remove the burned vehicle.
