DT Midstream, a local medical facility and Lagniappe Homecare sponsored a Veterans’ Day Celebration, Friday, November 3.
Some talented students from the 4-H Club of NSU Middle and E-Lab Schools painted an “I’m Proud to be an American” sign that was prominently hung across from the speaker’s podium. The Natchitoches Sheriff’s Department Honor Guard presented the colors after which Ms. Kidron Pagels sang the National Anthem.
Lane Gray led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by Kloe Kaufman with the Veteran’s Prayer and Braylee Johnson with “What a Veteran Means to Me.”
Longtime Natchitoches businessman, civic leader, retired Naval officer and SEAL, Aaron Johnson, delivered the keynote address.
Each of the over 50 veterans in attendance were treated to breakfast and thank you gifts from local businesses. The event was a wonderful way to celebrate our community’s veterans.
