Cane River Chapter, DAR Celebrates Veterans

The Cane River Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is dedicated to find lasting ways to honor Natchitoches Parish Veterans and active duty service members.  
 
“We are profoundly grateful for the sponsorships from Shawn Daily, Bank of Montgomery and Cane River Charities in collaborating the Third Veterans Appreciation and Celebration event on Oct. 29 at the Flora Community Center,” said Cane River Chapter Regent Peggy Aycock. 
 
Veterans, members and guest enjoyed fellowship, luncheon and a keynote address from Senator Louis Bernard.  Senator Bernard addressed patriotism, military awareness, commitment and what we can do as private citizens. 
 
Regent Aycock and Cane River Chapter members were joined by Louisiana Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) State Regent Cheryl Gott and Charlotte White, DAR Vice President General and Honorary State Regent.
 
The celebration was presided over by Regent Peggy Aycock.  Regent Aycock and Cane River Chapter members were joined by Louisiana Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) State Regent Cheryl Gott and DAR Vice President General Charlotte White and Honorary State Regent.  The Natchitoches Central High School U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Color Guards led by Senior Instructor MAJ (Retired) Duane Bailey posted the colors.
 
The Natchitoches chapter and sponsors encourage all Americans to commit themselves to the cause of peace and honor for the Nation’s veterans and service members for their courage, honor, patriotism and sacrifice.
