The Cane River Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) along with Bon Chasse Chapter, Coushatta Chute Chapter, Frances Rebecca Harrison, Pelican Chapter and Shreveport Chapter hosted a Christmas Party at the Overton Brooks Veterans Administration Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana on December 6, 2023.
DAR chapter members brought Christmas Greetings, served refreshments and enjoyed fellowship with veterans and their families. Each veteran and family were thanked for their service and wished blessings for a holiday season filled with love, laughter and joy.
The DAR is one of the largest patriotic women’s service organizations in the world, DAR has 190,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters across the country and several foreign countries. DAR members promote historic preservation, education and patriotism via commemorative events, scholarships and educational initiatives,
