Natchitoches Police arrest two juveniles with stolen firearms in separate incidents

Natchitoches Police Department officers were dispatched on Dec. 14 around 2:22 pm to Woodyard Drive near Ouida Drive in reference to an individual with a firearm.  Officers were able to locate the individual who fled from them on foot towards South Drive.  The suspect was arrested shortly later after hiding inside of a trash can behind an apartment complex.

The seventeen year old was taken into custody and is charged with illegal possession of a stolen firearm, obstruction of justice, resisting an officer, and illegal possession of a firearm by a juvenile.

Later that same day around 8:19 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Elizabeth Street in reference to a group of juveniles in a resident’s yard.  While officers were in the area they located the juveniles who fled on foot in all directions.  After several foot pursuits in the area officers were able to arrest one of the juveniles in the 300 block of Keyser Avenue. 

The sixteen year old juvenile was taken into custody and is charged with illegal possession of a stolen firearm and resisting an officer.

The Natchitoches Police Department would like to thank the citizens for calling in the locations of both juveniles while they were fleeing arrest.

Both juveniles have been previously arrested for burglary and one is currently on probation.  They were both issued juvenile court dates and released to their guardians.
