Robert Lilly, Jr.: Candidate for City Councilman, District 4

My history of public service in the village of Powhatan during my tenure on the Board of Aldermen led me to become a candidate for City Councilman in Natchitoches, District 4 where I am a currently a resident.

I have decided to make Natchitoches my permanent home and ; therefore, would like to be a part of a governing body that will make this city the best that it can be in these unpredictable days of the Twenty-first Century.

Attendance at Council meetings has me more keenly aware of the timely issues facing the City of Natchitoches government.

My starting point began some time ago when I thoroughly canvassed the residents of District 4 about their needs, concerns and problems.  My vision is to address those through my service on the council.  They voiced to me their concern about the dire need for the Mayor and Council to give more attention and City resources on the cleaning of the streets, better drainage and reduction of crime.  I want to become the voice of the people in District 4 who feel as if they have not been adequately represented up to this point.  I support an open door policy where I will remain accessible, available and accountable to the constituents of the District.
