Alyssa Brewton, a 14-year-old freshman at St. Mary’s Catholic School is now competing in the LHSPLA division for her school. Alyssa competed for her 1st time as an equipped lifter at The Sacred Heart Invitational Meet on Jan. 6 and she tied for 2nd place with a total of 705lbs; however, the other lifter weighed less than Alyssa so, the other lifter secured 2nd place and Alyssa secured the 3rd place slot. Twelve lifters in her weight class was a great challenge for everyone trying to place and Alyssa brought back 3rd place for St. Mary’s High School.
