Natchitoches woman arrested after running over two officers, colliding head on with another

Natchitoches Police Department were dispatched to Super 1 Foods on Keyser Avenue on Jan. 15 around 2:28 pm in reference to a theft in progress. Upon officers arrival they located Lakendra Bolton (B/F, 25, y.o.a. of Natchitoches) inside the store who then ran from them to her vehicle in the parking lot.  While officers were attempting to place her under arrest she drove over them with her vehicle and fled the area towards South Drive.

Officers located Bolton on South Drive and she led them on a brief pursuit that ended in a neighborhood off of Parkway Drive.  During the pursuit Bolton attempted to ram an officer and crashed head on with another police vehicle that ended the pursuit.

Lekendra Bolton is charged with three counts of attempted first degree murder, two counts of resisting an officer, aggravated flight from an officer, felony hit and run, reckless operation of a vehicle, theft and several bench warrants.  Bolton was placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.

The injury statuses of the officers are listed below:

  • Transported to a hospital in Rapides Parish with a serious lower body injury
  • Transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center with a minor lower body injury
  • Transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center with a minor upper body injury

This investigation is ongoing and the Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.
