Donovan Green’s hard work on the field made him a starter on the Northwestern State defensive line.
His work in the classroom landed him on the Southland Football All-Academic Team, which was announced Tuesday afternoon by the conference office. League coaches, sports information directors and academic personnel voted on the team.
Green led the Demons with three sacks in NSU’s six games. His 0.5 sacks per game ranked him 63rd nationally in the FCS. He added five tackles for loss with those going for a team-high 28 yards while his 19 tackles tied for sixth on the team.
He added five quarterback hurries, his first career interception, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a blocked kick. Green has started 27 games in his Northwestern State career, including all six this past season.
A junior from Palmetto who played his high school football at Opelousas Catholic, Green holds a 3.53 grade point average as an electronics engineering technology major. He is scheduled to complete his undergraduate degree in May.
