Adams’ appointment bolsters local contingent on LSHOF Foundationboard

The Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Foundation’s Board of Directors has
bolstered its local and area representation with the addition of Wil Adams,
a Mansfield native who is a successful financial advisor in Natchitoches and
Shreveport.

Adams, a 2009 graduate of Northwestern State University in business
administration, was added to the LSHOF Foundation board at its final
quarterly meeting of 2023. He joins a panel of over two dozen business and
community leaders from around Louisiana. The foundation was established in
1975 as a 501(c) (3) nonprofit entity providing financial support and
stewardship for the Hall of Fame.

It provides vital financial support, staffing and operational assistance for
year-round activities highlighted by the Hall of Fame’s annual summer
Induction Celebration honoring new members of the Hall, as well as assisting
the state-operated Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana
History Museum in Natchitoches.

Local LSHOF Foundation board members are Dustin Cross, Sharon Gahagan, Doug
Ireland and Buddy Wood, all of Natchitoches. In addition, longtime
Natchitoches resident Greg Burke is the Hall of Fame Foundation’s director
of business development and public relations, a position he accepted last
July.

Adams resides in Shreveport, where he has worked for Edward Jones in the
financial sector since 2011. His practice has received many local and even
national accolades, most recently from Forbes magazine. Last year, he
established an office on Second Street in downtown Natchitoches and is
typically on site Monday-Thursday.

He has extensive experience serving on nonprofit boards throughout the
state, including the NSU Foundation and Alumni boards, and is the chair for
NSU’s Pi Kappa Phi Beta Omicron alumni chapter.

“Wil is an excellent addition to our Foundation board,” said LSHOF
Foundation CEO/President Ronnie Rantz. “He has a love of sports, is a
successful businessman with strong relationships around our state, and has
extensive experience on several boards that give him expertise to make very
significant impact supporting the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and the
wonderful museum in Natchitoches.”

Adams also has south Louisiana roots as a graduate of Baton Rouge’s
Broadmoor High School, where he played baseball, football, ran cross country
and track. He came to NSU planning to play baseball but changed course and
became president of the Beta Omicron chapter of Pi Kappa Phi, among other
campus leadership roles.

He and wife Marissa are parents of three girls and they are active members
of First Methodist Church in Shreveport.

In his spare time he enjoys traveling with his family, playing golf,
pickleball and tennis, and being a staunchly loyal Houston Astros fan.
