The NCHS Math Team competed at the Demon Math Challenge, held Friday, March 22 at the Northwestern State University campus. The 11 students of the Chief squad vied against a field of 8 schools and 76 students.
The Demon Math Challenge is an annual competition hosted by the NSU Math department for high school students. The competition tests their knowledge of algebra, geometry, and advanced math. Students take an individual test and then compete as teams in a quizbowl style contest to be the first to solve problems.
NCHS’ All Stars (highest scoring students) were Isaac Young and Alson Key. Additionally, former NCHS student Bryan Chen was named an All Star for the LSMSA Team.
