Easter Sunday & Butte Missions

By Belinda Brooks

Easter Sunday was a time of remembrance for Harmony Christian Baptist Church in the Pace Community. Members gathered to celebrate their Risen Savior. The congregation was presented with a reenactment of the biblical event of Jesus Christ’s resurrection.

Harmony Christian Baptist Church is home to the historical Native American families of Natchitoches Parish. In September 2024, the church will celebrate 108 years of service to its community.

Chief Rodger Collum proudly announces the new ministry, Butte Mission Celebrate Recovery, which will begin this month.  The Mission’s plans include working hand-in-hand with Natchitoches Parish Drug Court to service hurting people and families in the Natchitoches area to combat the ever-increasing issues of addiction.

Butte Tribe of Bayou Bourbeaux has partnered with the Louisiana Governor’s Department of Fitness Council and the Bureau of Minority Health Access, headed by Director Rudy Macklin, who aids in funding the Butte Tribe project.
