NSU’s Army ROTC Demon Battalion recognized the accomplishments of its members at the Battalion’s Fall Awards Ceremony held at the Student Union Ballroom Thursday, April 25.

The cadets were honored for their academic, military, and physical fitness accomplishments. Six cadets were presented with $3,000.00 worth of scholarships funded by alumni and friends of NSU ROTC. Representatives of over 15 civic organizations presented awards to deserving cadets.

The five cadets who will become Army officers after graduation in May were also honored. Cadet Ariel Rhodes started her journey to becoming an Army officer by being sworn in as a contract cadet.

Army ROTC at NSU has more than doubled in size over the past few years. These quality young people excel in and out of the classroom. NSU’s Army ROTC program is an excellent way to grow, better yourself and become a leader. It is also a great way to graduate from college debt free with a well paying job waiting for you.

The Natchitoches Parish Journal is donating the event photography. The cadets and their families are welcome to download any they wish.
