Dear NPJ Editor,
If you have the opportunity, please would you pass on my congratulations and best wishes on her retirement, to Marilyn Demars.
My first visit to Natchitoches was in 1977, when I stayed with my Aunt Nancy Harrington (ex. Natchitoches School Board) in Flora. She took me to Lasyone’s for breakfast. It was my first experience of US style pancakes and the first time I would have met Marilyn.
I do not imagine Marilyn will remember me, but I have been back to Natchitoches and indeed Lasyone’s at approximately 5 year intervals ever since. Many are the times Marilyn has looked after myself and then later, my wife and children.
I will be one of the many people who will miss her and wanted to let her know she has made her mark on more than just a local scale!
Thanks and regards,
Nigel West
