  • 1300 and 1400 blocks of Washington Street
  • Robbins Drive
  • W. Lakeshore Drive
  • North 5Th Street
  • Esther Street
  • Bonnette Street
  • Roy Drive
  • Virginia Avenue

What is the purpose of the sewer smoke test?

Sanitary sewer smoke testing is a vital process used to identify leaks, defects, and other issues in the sewer system. The use of smoke testing makes it possible to detect flaws that are difficult to identify with other methods, reducing the risk of damage to the environment or public health. The process involves pumping harmless smoke through the sewer system, which then emerges through any defects or issues. By observing where the smoke emerges, teams can pinpoint the cause and location of the problem, making it easier to make any necessary repairs. Sanitary sewer smoke testing is an efficient and cost-effective way to ensure the sewer system functions optimally, maintaining public health and protecting the environment.
