Red River expected to crest on June 11

 
Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies went by J. Bennett Johnston Lock & Dam #3 in south Natchitoches Parish this morning to briefly look at the current river stages and flow of the Red River.
 
According to Natchitoches Parish NWS Cooperative Weather Observer Wiley Butler, this morning’s wire weight river gauge reading was 34.03 feet. Minor flood stage level for Red River at Grand Ecore, near Natchitoches, is 33.00 feet.
 
The river is expected to slowly recede following it’s crest on June 11, barring no additional heavy rains north of the area.
