Joy Steele Brown was born February 11, 1960, in Jewett Texas. She is survived by her husband Harmon H. (Joe) Brown, son Joseph Brown, daughter Alisa Garner with husband Anthony and 4 grandchildren: David, Laraya, Autumn, and Jerrell (Hot Hot), daughter Leslie Brown Franklin with husband Tyler and 2 grandchildren: Layla and Lawson, sister Renee Mills with husband Dean, brother Larry Carr with wife Brenda, sister in laws: Mary Hammontree, Merle Springer, Sybil Small, Mattie Townsend , Hazel Rainer, and Diana Steele, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceded in death by her father Otha Steele, niece Angie Carr, special niece Samantha Pool Carr with baby Samuel, and sister in law Eloyce Durr.

The highlight of her life was caring for others, she loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and dogs, Angel and Wiggles. She loved to be around her family and friends bringing smiles and laughter every where.

She passed at age of 64, June 11, 2024, after surviving well over a year with pancreatic cancer, special thanks to NRMC Cancer Center, Dr. Akhtar and his nurses.
