Natchitoches Parish Fire District 9 was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 2400 block of Hwy. 71, North of Campti on June 30 at 3:18 am. Fire units were on scene eight minutes later, to find the main fire in a rear bedroom of the structure. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and checked for occupants in the house. There were no reported injuries, and the fire appears to have started from a window air conditioning unit.
