NSU ‘Demons on Location’ community service

Sorting, packaging and distributing food items to hundreds on July 13, members of the Northwestern State University football team volunteered at the Cane River Food Pantry to assist with the monthly distribution activity for eligible Natchitoches Parish residents.

“We are aggressively helping to build great leaders on-and-off of the football field at NSU-through our football program. It is our intent to positively help enhance the community as often as we can, by providing community service,” said Blaine McCorkel, NSU’s first year head football coach.

The team will kick-off their season next month in Oklahoma.

“It was so good to have the team work with us. Organized, neat and  mannerable, they helped the distribution process to move much faster for this month. We appreciate Coach McCorkel, the players and his staff for their vision and time,” remarked Donna Greene, Pantry director.
