I’m happy to report the heat is not stopping the progress in improvements around Robeline. The village of Robeline has recieved the building that they will be retrofitting into a restroom for the park. As most will agree it will be a vast improvement over the porta potties.
While we had hoped to have a clinic by now, we were glad to see that over the weekend the supplies on the side of the site were moved onto the building site. And on Tuesday dirt work was well underway and temporary fencing was being constructed around the site. As the clinic is also a prefabricated building, we hope that everything will move quickly in the assembly, though we know the inside work will more than likely take some time.
Seeing everything starting to get rolling lead my curiosity to check in on the bank. While there is no construction date publicly announced, the plans for the new building were given the green light by the State Fire Marshalls office last week. So hopefully we’ll see some much wanted progress on that corner.
The village of Robeline will hold its monthly meeting this Thursday, July 18 at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to join in the proceedings.
The Robeline Heritage Society will also hold a meeting on July 18 at 4 p.m. in the Heritage building. Again all are invited to join us. In the next week or so forms for the parade, festival vendors and the Alumni Dinner will be made available. We encourage everyone to participate.
In other news, the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle, located at 9086 Texas St. in Robeline, will hold a Revival on July 21 at 6 pm and July 22-23 at 7 pm. The featured speaker is Elder Terry Lee. For more information contact Pastor J. Farrell at (318) 801-4160.
