Season ticket yard sign delivery along Cane River, Sibley Lake set for July 19

The Northwestern State Athletic Department is hitting the water again this summer, resuming a tradition connecting with its football season-ticket holders.

NSU’s boat trip down the Cane River and across Sibley Lake will take place July 19, beginning at 1 p.m. Department staff and select coaches will board several boats to traverse the local bodies of water, placing NSU football season-ticket holder signs in the yards of those who would like to participate.

If you are a Demon football season ticket holder and would like a yard sign placed in your yard along either the river or the lake, contact either Scott Maggio or Jason Pugh via email at maggios@nsula.edu or pughj@nsula.edu. Please be sure to include your address in the email.

The boat rides are a summer tradition that unofficially signals the start of the run-up to the Aug. 29 football season opener at Tulsa, which begins the Blaine McCorkle era of NSU football, and the Sept. 7 home opener against Prairie View A&M.

In addition to the matchup with Prairie View A&M, the Demons have home games against Weber State (Sept. 21), Texas A&M-Commerce (Oct. 12), Lamar (Homecoming, Oct. 26) and McNeese (Nov. 16).

Football season tickets are on sale now, and fans can either purchase tickets online at NSUTickets.com or in person at the ticket office, located inside the Donald G. Kelly Athletic Complex fieldhouse.
