The public is invited to the Northwestern State University campus at 11 a.m. Tuesday as James T. “Jimmy” Genovese will be introduced as the university’s 21st president. 

The event will be in the Sylvan Friedman Student Union Ballroom in the center of the campus.

Genovese, who has served as an associate justice on the Louisiana Supreme Court, was named the university’s president-elect last Thursday in Baton Rouge by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors in a unanimous vote. He will assume office in early August. 

Tuesday’s program will include recognition of local and regional elected officials, figures from Genovese’s personal life, special presentations to the newly-elected president and comments from Genovese.  Following the program and media interviews, Genovese will be available to greet those attending the introduction.
