The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon on Virginia Avenue near Myrtle Drive.

On July 25, 2024 around 4:54 p.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department responded to the 500 block of Virginia Avenue in reference to gunshots in the area. Upon officers arrival they located the victim who was suffering from several gunshot wounds. Officers began to render medical attention to the victim while waiting on other first responders to arrive.

The victim was transported to a hospital in Caddo Parish where they are listed in stable condition.

This investigation is ongoing and the Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.
