Natchitoches Police arrest suspect for two burglaries

The Natchitoches Police Department has arrested Stevie Jones Jr. (B/M, 21 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) for two burglaries that occurred last month.

On July 13, 2024 around 4:09 p.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of Demeziere Street in reference to a residential burglary in progress. Upon officers’ arrival they made contact with the homeowner who said that when he arrived to his residence, he located the suspect in his home. Officers were able to review the homes surveillance cameras and were later able to identify Stevie Jones Jr. as the suspect.

On July 16, 2024 around 11:52 a.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department were dispatched to the 400 block of Payne Street in reference to a residential burglary that occurred earlier that week. Upon officers’ arrival they were told that the suspect entered the home and removed a television. Officers were able to watch the homes surveillance cameras and were able to identify Stevie Jones Jr. as the suspect.

On August 7, 2024 around 12:38 p.m., the Natchitoches Police Department received a tip from a concerned citizen who was able to positively identify Stevie Jones Jr. walking down Amulet Street. Officers were able to locate Stevie Jones Jr. and place him under arrest without incident.

Stevie Jones Jr. is charged with two counts of simple burglary and simple possession of marijuana. He was placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.
