
A fugitive wanted by the United States Marshals Service was captured recently in Campti according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright.
NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau deputies responded to a trespassing complaint on Aug. 24 around 9:33 am in the 200 block of Cloud Crossing Road near Campti.
Deputies say upon their arrival, they came in contact with a male identified as 42-year-old Billy D. Adams who is originally from the Campti area.
Adams did not have permission to be on the property, however, the complainant only requested that he be informed to leave and not return.
A NCIC inquiry revealed that Adams had been sought by the US Marshals Service, Arlington, Texas since December 2023 for Probation Violation on Simple Burglary charges.
Adams was arrested without incident, transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with being a US Marshals Service Fugitive.
Adams remains in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center awaiting extradition.
