Omegas prepare for weekly activity

Committed to helping to enhance the Natchitoches-Northwestern community through service, members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity-Theta Delta Chapter at NSU started their weekly “Adopt-A-Road” clean up project on Aug. 23, cleaning both sides of their designated street. From the apex of Howell and University Parkway to the corner of Howell and Thomas Streets, on Wednesdays, the members will clean and periodically assist with cleaning of the Jackson Square Cemetery.

Several residents on Howell Street have agreed to provide items for cleaning and refreshments at the conclusion of the documented clean-up campaign during the 2024-2025 school year. The connecting sisterhood group to the fraternity, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority-Iota Mu Chapter (at NSU as well), assisted with the recent effort.

“Rooted in the principles of our beloved organization, it is our desire to help UPLIFT our varied communities on the regular basis,” said Carlton Johnson II, the fraternity’s president.
