District Attorney Billy Harrington announced that a Natchitoches Parish grand jury has returned an indictment for second degree murder. The grand jury indicted Michael Wills, 30 of Natchitoches, for one count each of second degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and illegal possession of a stolen firearm.
The alleged charges relate to an incident in May 2024 in which Wills was arrested following the shooting death of a victim in Natchez. During the apprehension of Wills, a firearm that was previously reported as stolen was identified and recovered at the scene. A grand jury indictment is rendered by a panel of Natchitoches Parish citizens formally charging a person of a felony crime.
Wills will be formally arraigned in court at a later date.
