Natchitoches Parish District Attorney Billy Joe Harrington announced today the disposition of a felony domestic violence case. Dino Maxie, 29, of Many, was scheduled to begin a jury trial for aggravated second degree battery in the 10th Judicial District Court. However, prior to the beginning of the trial, Maxie changed his plea to guilty and faced sentencing. The charge, guilty plea, and sentencing relate to a domestic violence incident in which Maxie committed aggravated second degree battery on a female victim that included multiple lacerations, bruises, and a broken leg and arm. Judge Desiree Dyess sentenced Maxie to serve the maximum sentence 15 years of incarceration at hard labor in the La. Department of Corrections. The 15 year sentence will be served consecutively to a 20 year sentence Maxi is already serving relating to a felony charge from Sabine Parish. First Assistant District Attorney Cloyd Benjamin, Jr. prosecuted the case.
