
The Natchitoches SWAT team apprehended Dakota Harvey, a 36-year-old black male, on Oct. 8 around 7:15 am after executing a high-risk warrant in the 200 block of Barnum Street in Campti. Harvey, who had been evading law enforcement for several months, had multiple warrants out for his arrest.
Authorities received credible information indicating that he intended to harm police if they attempted to capture him according to Sheriff Stuart Wright.
Law enforcement officials from the Natchitoches Parish Drug Enforcement Unit (NPSO DEU) obtained a search warrant for a residence believed to be Harvey’s hiding place. He was taken into custody without incident.
During the search, agents assisted by NPSO CIB discovered several illicit items, including:
– Two firearms (Harvey is a convicted felon)
– Approximately 60 suspected fentanyl pills disguised as roxycodone
– Approximately 1.5 pounds of suspected synthetic marijuana
– One Adderall
– Other legend drugs
– A digital scale
– Cyclobenzaprine
– A stolen dirt bike
Harvey has been charged with multiple offenses, including:
– Possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana (40:966/A)
– Possession with intent to distribute fentanyl (40:967/A)
– Possession of drug paraphernalia (40:1023)
– Possession of cyclobenzaprine (40:969 A)
– Possession of Adderall (40:967/C)
– Possession of a legend drug (40:1060.13)
– Possession of a firearm (14:95.1)
– Two counts of possession of a weapon with drugs (14:95 E)
– Possession of stolen property (14:69)
– Violation of a protective order
– Three counts of failure to appear (FTA) through NPSO
– One domestic violence by strangulation warrant
