105-year-old citizen votes at the polls

Corinne Dowden, age 105 of Kisatchie, got out this morning, Nov. 5, to do her civic duty and vote. She votes at the Kisatchie Baptist Church polling place.

When we hear people saying that they are too tired, too busy, don’t care about the process, we’ll refer them to Ms. Corinne. She was a former jury commissioner for Natchitoches Parish Clerk of Court David Stamey and Louie Bernard until she retired at age 99.

“She was a great worker and always set a super example for others,” said Stamey. “Great Americans like Corinne Dowden make me proud to do my best to deliver safe and accurate elections.”
