Red River Parish Sheriff’s Deputies have Pottain in custody in Coushatta. He will be booked into the Red River Parish Jail and transferred to LaSalle Corrections Facility in Natchitoches at a later time to face Natchitoches Parish criminal charges.

The NPJ spoke to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office on Nov. 4 after hearing of an increased law enforcement presence in the Campti area around 11 am. Deputies were looking for Samuel “Sammy” Pottain, who is wanted on outstanding felony warrants. In addition to the warrants, Pottain fled from deputies during a traffic stop over the weekend.
