
Beginning in the summer of 2025, Natchitoches area residents will have an exciting new option for shopping. The groundbreaking for Natchitoches’ new Super-1 Foods store was held at the store’s construction site on Keyser Ave., Tuesday, November 12. Brookshire Grocery Company Chairman & CEO Brad Brookshire was joined by his leadership team, members of SCI Construction, who will be building the store, Mayor Ronnie Williams, city council members Betty Sawyer-Smith and Dale Nielsen, parish councilman Wayne Halm, Chamber of Commerce President Laura Lyles, Chief of Police Nikeo Collins and Laurie Gentry from State Senator Alan Seabaugh’s office in turning the ceremonial first shovel of dirt.
The new Super-1 Foods store will boast 45,000 square feet of shopping space and feature a Fuel Center and CC’s Coffee. The store is expected to open in the summer of 2025. Mr. Doug Riley will serve as the store’s director. He is currently the Store Director for the store in the Dixie Plaza and will transition over when the new store opens.
