The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred Friday morning at a restaurant on University Parkway.
Natchitoches Police Department responded to the 5000 block of University Parkway (IHOP) on Dec. 6 around 5:55 am in reference to an employee being stabbed. Upon officers arrival they made contact with the victim who was suffering from several stab wounds. Officers and investigators were able to speak with several witnesses who said that Lawrence Jones (W/M, 46 y.o.a. of Campti) and the victim got into an argument while working at the restaurant. During the argument Lawrence Jones stabbed the victim and fled into a wooded area behind the restaurant.
Officers were able to locate Lawrence Jones and place him under arrest without incident.
Lawrence Jones is charged with second degree battery and was placed in the LaSalle Detention Center of Natchitoches.
The victim was transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center where they are listed in stable condition.
