It is not every child who can say that he inspired his mother to write a book, but a young man in the Plemmons family can lay claim to having done so.  Ashli Ackel Plemmons celebrated the publication of her first children’s book with a signing at Cunningham Wealth Management Group’s office Friday, December 6. Ms. Plemmons’ book was inspired by her youngest son who asked her “Who gives Santa presents?” That young man’s simple, yet profound, question supplied the impetus for what was to be his mother’s debut as an author. The book is as the author said: “…a sweet Christmas tale that reminds us that the true magic of the holidays can’t be found in a box or wrapped in a bow—it’s found in the love we share with each other around the world…”

Ms. Plemmons is a Natchitoches native and a 2006 St. Mary’s alumna. She went on to LSU and earned a degree in nursing in 2010. She currently lives in Longview, Texas with her husband Britton and three children. “Who Gives Santa Presents?” is available from Amazon, Barnes and Noble and the publisher, Blue Balloon Books.
