The Natchitoches Parish School Board voted at its Dec. 10 meeting to approve reclassifying the Natchitoches Parish Technical and Career Center (NPTCC) from a school to an alternative program beginning in the 25-26 school year.

At the Dec. 3 committee meeting Superintendent Dr. Grant Eloi explained to board members that this doesn’t change anything and is more of a housekeeping item with the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE). This will allow the staff to be more impactful because of a lower student body count.

Approve Out of State Travel for Teacher Recruitment for HR Director Linda Page and two other employees (TBD) to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on March 18-20, 2025. Not to exceed $5,000.

Approve out of State travel for NCHS Orchestra, Richard Hall, Syll Olson and Davin White to New York City on Feb. 14-17, 2025.

Approve Out of State travel for NIET Conference on Feb. 26-March 1, 2025 in Washington, DC

Approve board member travel to COSSBA Conference on March 20-23, 2025 to Atlanta, Georgia at an estimated cost of $2,500 per board member.
