Kiwanis learns about LA Sports Hall of Fame, inducts new members

The Kiwanis Club of Natchitoches opened on Dec. 13 with club president Brittany Barton giving regular club updates, and thanking everyone involved for their participation in running a Christmas Festival ticket booth on Horn Street. Barton mentioned that the club will be sending off the coats that have been collected to the cleaners, with the intent of delivering them to the school board office soon.

Club secretary and former division 11 lieutenant governor Craig Caskey performed the induction ceremony for two new members, Tarlisha Hudson of MSC Industrial Supply and Scott Maggio of Northwestern State Athletics.

Brittany Barton introduced club member and LSHOF Director of Business Development and Public Relations, Greg Burke to the club. Burke discussed how LSHOF is excited about its upcoming induction ceremony happening on June 26-28, 2025. He also touched on how the foundation works and is looking for new members to join the foundation through their “Join the LSHOF Team” promotion. The members in attendance were impressed that they held a replica NFL Vince Lombardi trophy with Drew Brees’ signature, commemorating the New Orleans Saints’ 2010 Super Bowl win.

The meeting concluded with everyone enjoying cake and saying their goodbyes to member Tiffany Gourdon who represented the US Army Recruiting Office, a Kiwanis community corporate member. The club wishes she and her family the best in their new chapter!
