Natchitoches’ Krewe of Excellence kicked off the 2025 Mardi Gras season in grand style with its second annual Mardi Gras parade Saturday, January 4. The Krewe was joined by over 40 units as well as Krewes from Lafayette, and Shreveport. There was no shortage of throws as eager paradegoers garnered beads, candy, and trinkets from passing floats. The NCHS Army Junior ROTC Color Guard led the parade, while the superb NCHS band and spirit groups kept the crowd entertained with their high energy performances.
The Krewe of Excellence King this year is Nikeo Collins and the Queen is Jacqueline Lawson. They ruled over the parade assisted by the Krewe’s Court and past royalty.
The Krewe of Excellence parade has firmly established itself as an integral part of our area’s Mardi Gras scene. The parade was terrific family fun and another example of what makes life in our community special.
