The Coach De Foundation (TCDF), a local nonprofit organization, receives a donation from Walmart. The funds will be used to continue providing resources to the community.
The Coach De Foundation (TCDF) is a nonprofit organization designed to be used as a vehicle to bring resources to underserved or low income neighborhoods. The TCDF currently hosts Coach De’s Closets, Thanksgiving meal giveaways, Christmas toy drives, provides school supplies (including shoes and uniforms) to local youth through schools and participates in other local nonprofit events. During the 2023-2024 fiscal year, The Coach De Foundation hosted two Coach De’s Closets in local neighborhood parks. These closets served 750+ local residents in need ages newborn to 83 years old. TCDF served over 1,500 local residents during the 2023-2024 fiscal year. TCDF plans to host three Closets in 2025.
These seasonal themed closets will allow low income neighborhoods to acquire essential items for their families. Closet themes have historically consisted of spring, back to school and winter items.
Coach De’s Closets are events that provide clothing, toys, shoes, food, hygiene products and resources to families in low-income neighborhoods. The closets are hosted at local parks to break the transportation and financial barriers families of Natchitoches Parish encounter.
The Coach De Foundation solicits financial contributions and lightly used or new items from the community to fill the closet prior to the events through donations. During the Coach De’s Closet event, citizens in need can select essential items of their choice free of charge. Citizens often request the following items: uniforms, jackets, and hygiene products such as deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste and feminine products.
