A dedicated group of Grambling alumni, civic leaders and GSU Tiger supporters gathered at the Natchitoches Events Center on Jan. 18 for the first of several statewide presentations to assist Grambling State University’s football program by developing NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) funding.
The fundraising efforts are being undertaken by G-Men Nation, Inc. a group of former Grambling football players as well as alumni and other supporters. Grambling State University head football coach Mickey Joseph spoke about the changing scene in college football and the need for NIL funds in order to be competitive in player recruitment and retention. Coach Joseph was joined by members of his coaching staff as well as a number of alumni who wore black and gold during their college days and who went on to the NFL.
The G-Man Nation organization has a goal of $250,000 for the first phase of the NIL fundraising drive as the supporters look to help their alma mater maintain a standard of excellence in athletics, and particularly, the Tigers’ nationally-prominent football program.
