Late Friday afternoon Washington Street was closed to through traffic, just north of the intersection of Lafayette Street, for pavement repairs due to what appears to be a large sinkhole. The duration of the closure is unknown at this time. Through traffic is being detoured via Texas Street and Lafayette Street.
