Boys to Men Club members visit Grambling

Despite the days off last week due to snow, ice, and the MLK Holiday, the Boys to Men Club members didn’t let that put a damper in their schedule.

On Jan. 31, Thomas took the group to GSU for a campus tour. This is an annual event for the club members. The purpose of the tour was solely for exposure and to allow the guys to “experience” what options are available to them.

While there, a campus tour guide gave an in-depth, hands-on personalized guide to some of the new things taking place on the campus. Popular spots such as the Eddie G. Robinson Museum, Assembly Center, the new Intramural Center, McCall Dining Hall, and the new state-of-the-art Digital Library are just a few of the hot spots that were seen. Grambling is the ONLY school in North Louisiana with a 100% all-digital library.

While there touring the Eddie G. Robinson Museum, the guys even managed to grab a personal conversation with GSU Legendary Coach Wilbert Ellis. Coach Ellis, who is a native of Ruston and an inductee into the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, advised the group to stay motivated and focused on their dreams, and to believe that anything can be accomplished.

While there, Boys to Men Club received a Grambling t-shirt as a momentum Reali-Tees, which is a well-known and popular establishment that has been serving Grambling’s students with gifts and souvenirs for the past 30 years!

The Boys to Men Club is identified as a non-profit 501(c)(3) service organization that is housed at Natchitoches Junior High School under the leadership of Jermaine Thomas.
