
The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place on Saida Street earlier this afternoon.
Natchitoches Police Department officers responded to the 100 block of Saida Street on Feb. 13 in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon officers arrival they located the victim suffering from one gunshot wound and immediately began to render aid while other first responders were arriving to the area. The victim was transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center with minor injuries and they are expected to be released later today.
While on scene investigators and officers canvassed the area for bullet casings and evidence connected to the shooting. All of the evidence collected will be sent to the crime lab for further analysis.
This investigation is ongoing and the Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.
