Campti Mayor’s Statement on mill closure

As Mayor of the Town of Campti, along with the Town Council, I stand with the Parish of Natchitoches in deep concern and uncertainty following the closure of International Paper. For over 50 years, this company has been a vital part of our community, providing jobs and opportunities for employees, contractors, and truckers who have contributed greatly to Campti.

While this may feel like an uncertain and challenging time, I urge you not to lose heart. Hope is not lost.

The Town of Campti is partnering with the Louisiana Workforce Commission to provide job opportunity information and resources for those affected. Our doors are open to assist you in applying for jobs, exploring financial opportunities, and taking the necessary steps to secure your future.

Now, more than ever, it is time for us to pull together, pray together, and plan together so that we may prosper together. Our prayers and support remain with all those impacted by this closure.
