The St. Mary’s Girls Powerlifting Team delivered an impressive performance at the Central Regional Meet this past weekend at Pineville High School, with all four athletes achieving personal bests on the platform.
Competing against tough competition, the Lady Tigers showcased their strength and determination, proving that hard work in the weight room pays off.
The team’s lifters included:
Rayanna Northsworthy – 10th grade
Gracie Watson – 9th grade
Ady Rhodes – 8th grade
Alyssa Brewton – 10th grade
Brewton had a standout performance, placing 3rd overall in her division with a total lift of 715 pounds, securing a bronze medal at the regional competition.
The team is led by coaches Travis Smith and Nikki Brewton, who have helped guide these young athletes to new personal records and competitive success.
With this strong showing at regionals, the St. Mary’s powerlifters continue to build momentum for future competitions.
